The skirt body is shirred with over 45 feet of hand pleats to accent the bottom, and two cutouts of Italian brocade in the back. A gathered apron with velvet and beaded trim, two looped bustles and Italian silk brocade streamers add contrast to the skirt. A metal frame tournure provides the skirt structure. The jacket consists of silk velvet with silk taffeta contrast and rope trim in the collar and cuffs, and is accented with rhinestone buttons. A French lace tie with a purchased antique cameo completes the jacket. The bonnet is hand-made with silk velvet and vintage paper flowers and feathers with a double satin tie. The wooden parasol is hand-sewn with dupioni silk for both the cover and inside lining trimmed with silk ruffle and glass beads. |
